The Nakawa West member of parliament Joel Ssenyonyi has launched the registration of NUP members in his constituency

This exercise is part of the national mass registration of party members, an exercise that was launched by the NUP president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu at the beginning of this month.

"We have a lot of supporters across the country, we want those supporters to became party members formally," said Ssenyonyi during the launch.

The NUP spokesperson noted it's different to support a party and being a party members.

"It is only party members that can have a say on issues to do with the party."

Ssenyonyi who doubles as the leader of opposition in parliament cautioned registrars against all manner of indiscipline saying their characters will go along way in attracting members to the party

"Discipline is paramount," he said.

Ssenyonyi says the party looks at these registrars as focal persons within the respective areas
